Popular Dietary Supplement Safe Way to Shed Holiday Pounds

Tips For Taking Ephedra Products

Washington, DC (December 26, 2001) Too many cups of eggnog or extra holiday cookies will soon have many Americans looking for ways to slim down. Many of them will turn to Ephedra products as an answer and join millions of other Americans who safely use Ephedra products. Every year Americans consume three billion servings of Ephedra weight loss products safely by following certain guidelines.

The Ephedra Education Council (EEC) today released tips to remind consumers that taking Ephedra products can be part of an effective weight control strategy during the holiday season and beyond. Consumers should remember the following:

1. Use Ephedra products with the same degree of care as any over-the-counter health care product;
2. Don't forget to read and follow the warning labels;
3. Follow recommended serving levels. The industry recommends taking no more than 25 mg per serving or 100 mg per day;
4. If you have a pre-existing condition, such as heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure, you should not take Ephedra products without consulting a health care professional;
5. If you're under 18, you should not consume an Ephedra product.

The EEC has compiled a list of clinical research studies from nationally recognized medical and scientific experts that demonstrate the safety and benefits of Ephedra as a weight loss supplement. Information on these studies can be found at www.ephedrafacts.com.
